Head Nurse

Katie has been with Camp IHC since 2008. She and her husband Bart fell in love with camp and vowed to find a way to make it part of their lives. Though she missed a few years, she and her family are now a permanent fixture at IHC, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
As a nurse, Katie has worked in a variety of settings from ICU to OR but finds that “camp nursing” suits her best. She began her career with Camp IHC as a staff nurse but quickly found that she was interested in all the facets of camp life. She is now taking on a few new tasks as she begins working year-round for camp.
Katie holds an English degree from the University of Florida and her Nursing degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville. Under her leadership she helped build a brand new state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Center and leads a team of doctors and nurses throughout the summer to make sure we're all safe and healthy!
In 2019 she went above and beyond and received the American Camp Nurses award for Nurse of the Year!
